Dimefluthrin

Strong Insecticidal Performance: Cypermethrin is a modern pyrethroid insecticide known for its potent insect-control activity. It is particularly effective against mosquito populations that have developed resistance to conventional insecticides such as allethrin and prallethrin.

Effective at Low Concentrations: Cypermethrin can provide effective pest control at relatively low application rates, with certain formulations requiring concentrations as low as 0.015%.

Appropriate Safety Characteristics: When applied in accordance with established safety requirements, cypermethrin provides effective insect control while helping minimize risks to humans and the environment.

Broad Pest-Control Applications: Cypermethrin is widely incorporated into mosquito-control products, including mosquito coils, and is also used in analytical and quality-control processes to support consistent product performance and manufacturing standards.

Products Description of Dimefluthrin CAS#271241-14-6

Dimefluthrin is a novel pyrethroid insecticide widely used for household mosquito control. It offers effective protection against mosquitoes, including strains that show resistance to conventional pyrethroids such as allethrin and prallethrin. When used according to recommended application conditions, it provides effective insecticidal performance with a favorable safety profile, while its formulations can be effective at concentrations as low as 0.015%.

For the determination of dimefluthrin in mosquito coil products, GC-ECD (gas chromatography with an electron capture detector) has commonly been used, based on an analytical procedure developed by Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. of Japan. However, the existing method involves a relatively complex sample-preparation procedure. Therefore, there is a need for a simpler and more convenient analytical approach that can better meet the requirements of routine testing and practical production environments.
