Product Application of Guanidine Hydrochloride 99.5% CAS#50-01-1
Guanidine Hydrochloride is widely employed as a versatile intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, dyes, and other specialty chemicals.
It is commonly used as a starting material for the preparation of pyrimidine derivatives, including 2-aminopyrimidine, 2-amino-6-methylpyrimidine, and 2-amino-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine. It also plays an important role in the manufacture of sulfonamide pharmaceuticals, such as sulfadiazine, sulfamethylpyrimidine, and sulfamethazine.
Guanidine Hydrochloride, as well as guanidine nitrate, can undergo a reaction with ethyl cyanoacetate to form 2,4-diamino-6-hydroxypyrimidine, an intermediate used in the synthesis of folic acid for pharmaceutical applications. In addition, Guanidine Hydrochloride can be used as an antistatic agent in the production of synthetic fibers, helping to minimize static buildup and enhance material performance.
