Acrylamide CAS#1979-6-1

Acrylamide is a versatile organic monomer widely used in chemical synthesis and polymer production. Its high reactivity, together with its distinctive physical properties, makes it an important raw material for a variety of industrial applications.

At ambient temperature, pure acrylamide is typically present as a white, crystalline solid with no noticeable odor. Commercial-grade material may appear slightly yellow and can have a mild characteristic odor as a result of trace impurities. Acrylamide is also highly hygroscopic, readily absorbing moisture from the surrounding environment, which may cause the crystals to soften and, under prolonged exposure, partially or completely dissolve.

Acrylamide

Product Application of Acrylamide

Acrylamide is primarily utilized as a functional monomer in the manufacture of polyacrylamide (PAM) and a wide range of copolymers. Acrylamide-based polymers and derivatives are extensively used in water treatment, enhanced oil recovery, papermaking, polymer processing, and biotechnology.

Beyond these applications, acrylamide-derived materials also play an important role in soil stabilization, textile printing and dyeing, mineral processing, and other specialized industrial processes, owing to their excellent water-solubility, flocculation, and polymer-forming properties.
